p90x portions

trying to burn fat and build muscle?
I have a decent build and have been trying to increase the muscle portion by using p90x but recently I failed a weigh in at my reserve unit. before everyone jumps on a dam high horse I failed by half an inch on my waist. my question is can I lose weight and build muscle? since I failed I am going to be wieghed every month until I pass. I need the muscle to do better on my fitness test but my weight is increasing as a result, is there a way to get more muscle and less heavy overall? My current plan was to bulk up then slim down but I now have to lose weight and I have not gained the muscle mass I wanted yet.
Well if you’re looking to gain muscle then expect to see some weight gain. My advice would be first to burn fat (using cardio and a moderate amount of weight training to avoid losing muscle mass) and then to start gaining muscle by lifting weights and in general eating more. It’s a slow process so be patient
