p90x mats

p90x mats
What equipment do I have to get for p90x workout?

Just wondering if I need to purchase dumb bells, mats, etc.

Here’s what I bought (i’m going through the program for the 2nd time now).

Yoga mat
Dumb bells (according to your needs)
Resistance bands (because I cannot do pullups)

Pull-up bar (the kind that mounts in a door frame, for the time that maybe I can do a pull up)

That’s it. I got the yoga mat, resistance bands, and pull-up bar online for cheaper than I saw around town. The dumb bells are hard to buy online because shipping is high due to their weight…so I just get a new set from Wal-Mart every time I’m ready to move up (right now 20# are my heaviest).

The yoga mat isn’t essential BUT it helps keep your feet/hands from slipping if you are doing the yoga or stretch routine on carpet…and gives you some padding because ya don’t want to lie on a hard floor for some of the stretches or back rolls (just not comfy).

The program shows how to use the resistance bands to do all the exercises that dumb bells are used for, so if money or storage is an issue, you can get by having just the bands and not any actual dumb bells. Just make sure you get good quality bands (the cheap ones tend to come apart and can injure you).

It’s a great program, and if you are diligent, you’ll see some results. Don’t expect to look like the folks in the infomercial any time soon (unless you are already in very good shape) but it DEFINITELY can be beneficial and give you results. ☺

Start of week 2 Update.
