Quick Question about P90X ???? Materials?

I know that when you purchase the P90X that ofcourse it comes with the nutrition book and cd’s yet I am curious about how much money I need to invest in the other materials such as a pull up bar and other materials I might need anyone that has already been through this program please let me know as far as what materials I need and maybe where I can find them at a reasonable price thanks any comments are appreciated thanks again have a great Labor Day Weekend :)

Currently in week 5 of my first P90X. I bought a pull-up bar for around $15 at Wal-Mart (which required screws into our door frame, gotta be willing to do that). Otherwise you can find bars that use your door frame but which do not require you to drill into your door frame. Check GNC, a sports retailer near you, etc. These bars run around $30-40.

Then there are dumb-bells. You might luck out and find someone’s unwanted dumbbells at a thrift store, salvation army, etc. Or you could check your local craigslist.org listings. Otherwise, buying them brand new, they’ll cost you around $50 – $100, depending on how many different weights you want. I use predominantly 15 lbs., but it’s nice to have 8 or 10 pounders for tougher exercises, and soon I’ll want some 20s or 25s as my strength increases. If you’re female though, 15 might be too heavy. My fiancee is a lean 5’6″ 115, and 15s are too heavy for her with most exercises. Just biological muscle differences.

If you’re going to be on carpet, you might get away with not having a mat. We’re on wood floors, so we use our camping sleeping pads as Yoga mats.

Overall it’s extremely effective. And the more seriously you take the nutrition component, the better your results will be.
