p90x bad results

Needing to lose 20 lbs, insecurity & low self esteem is ruining my life?

Ok im 22 years old, im 5’9 and I weigh 210 lbs. When I was in high school I weighed around 183 lbs and I was healthy, my self esteem was really high and I felt great. Now 4 and a half years later I have a beautiful girlfriend who has a perfect body and I feel so disgusting around her. Its so bad that I dont feel like I deserve her and I have been with her 2 years now and we are engaged. I know your gonna say that if she didnt like the way I looked then she wouldnt be with me, well true, but i still cant get over myself. Im going on a diet as soon as my buddy gets done with his P90X dvds and i am undecided on which diet I will follow, its between the low fat (salads, subs, and low fat foods diet) or the low carb diet. I have done the low carb diet, and its the only diet I have seen results on. I know you will prefer a different diet, but its between these two. Help

How low carb are you looking at? The atkins diet is insane for a low-carb diet, but the south beach diet is pretty good. Low fat doesn’t mean healthier, a lot of low fat cookies, chocolates, etc… actually have more calories than their regular fat counterparts. This is because they have to use extra sugar to compensate for the fat they took out, so it’ll still taste good. So if you’re planning on doing lowER carb, that’s fine. I would definitely recommend the South Beach diet. Don’t go crazy and limit your carbs too much, your brain needs carbs to run off, when you don’t consume enough you starve your brain. But definitely taking the white flour, white pasta, white bread, soda, candy, chocolate, chips, junk food, etc…. out of your diet will help. Sounds common sense, but it works.
