For P90X users, will thin people lose weight?

I’m finally ready to jump on the P90X bandwagon after contemplating for a long time. But what discourages me, is when I see pictures of “out of shape” thin people turn cut and toned after the 90 day work out, and they look a little too thin. Of course after a few more rounds, they begin to beef up again but that just worries me. I’m 140lbs with virtually no body fat at all already and I really can’t risk losing anymore weight, lol. Infact, I’m hoping P90X will bulk/tone me up. Can anyone shed some light? Would I need to skip cardio or something?
And is it true that the resistance bands is for tone and the dumbbells are for muscle growth?

.If you consume enough calories, you won’t lose weight. Make sure you eat enough. That’s the key to getting through the workouts, building the muscle, and whether or not you lose weight (fat).

Resistance bands are good if you cannot afford weights, don’t have a place to store them, or can’t do the pullups (I use bands for the pullups). However, you don’t get the control you do with weights. You know exactly how many pounds you are lifting when you are using dumbells…the bands provide you with about “X” lbs of resistance, but as they get stretched out that will change over time, not to mention when you increase resistance you have no idea what you are increasing it to.

I bought a set of the Bowflex SelecTech weights and love them, but for some moves they are bulky to use (they’re big, but they go from 5# to 52.5# and only take up the space of about 2 pr of dumbbells.

I love the P90X program though and am currently finishing up week 3 of Phase 1. I went through the program twice last year (Classic the first time, Doubles the second time). I only lost 10 lbs total (the first go-round) but did gain a good bit of muscle toning and strength. How you use the program will dicate what it does for you.

Bring It!
